SiteGround vs TMDHosting: Don’t Be Caught Overpaying For Your WordPress Blog Hosting
Your blog’s host is responsible for all the technical aspects of running your WordPress blog, such as site speed, uptime, and security.
So, picking the wrong blog host could mean that your site takes forever to load, leading to high bounce rates. Or maybe your website frequently crashes so it begins to lose creditbility.
Either way, these are two things (among many) that you need to avoid when operating a blog and picking the best blog hosting site will help you to do just that.

If you haven’t already figured this out, starting a blog is a lot of work. There are many steps that you need to follow to successfully launch a money making blog.
And, one of the very first steps in launching a successful, money making blog is to purchase WordPress hosting so you can have a self-hosted website.
Trust me, you’re gonna want your websites hosting to be affordable, quick, and come with good technical support – all of which will be included in the comparison below!
And, a little side note: I do not recommend Shared Web Hosting (the most common + cheapest WordPress hosting) from any blog hosting company because it is not sufficient for the kind of power needed to run most WordPress blogs.
You see, my site was as slow as molasses on shared web hosting and frequently crashed, because it was always fighting for space. So, to avoid this, I highly recommend that you start your blog with Cloud Hosting.
LET’S TALK MONEY
What is better than saving money? Uhhhh…yeah…that’s what I thought: Nothing.
Yep, you read that correctly. SiteGround charges EIGHTY dollars per month for their Cloud Hosting. Now, let me stop you and let you know that if you spend $80.00/month for your websites hosting, YOU’RE CRAZY! Like, crazy crazy.
As I mentioned, I recommend Cloud Web Hosting as opposed to Shared Web Hosting because of its speed and reliability. However, most hosting companies advertise their cheapest plans first – which is usually shared hosting. And, when you use shared web hosting, you’re doing exactly what it says: Sharing your web space.
See, I started my blog journey with WordPress hosting from TMDHosting. However, when my site ran out of shared hosting space and became unbearably slow and prone to crashing, I immediately switched to cloud hosting with TMDHosting and all my problems were solved.
In addition to TMDHosting’s cloud plans’ low costs and kickass website speeds, you also get:
1. A free domain
2. 24/7/365 technical support.
3. Unlimited website space (with SiteGround you only get 4 GB)
4. 60-day money back guarantee (SiteGround offers no money back guarantee for cloud plans)
You get so. much. more with TMDHosting for so. much. less. #$$$

LET’S TALK SPEED
So there’s this thing in the computer world called SSD space and it’s apparently bucketloads better than HHD space. Why? It is hella fast.
The SSD Servers that TMDHosting uses are 32x faster than the HHD space that most hosting companies use.
Now, both TMDHosting and SiteGround offer SSD Space with their Starter Cloud Hosting Plans, so that’s a good start. However, TMDHosting offers unlimited SSD Space, while SiteGround offers only 40GB of SSD Space.
This means that eventually with SiteGround you’ll have to update to an even more expensive plan to get more space. So, keep in mind that you could eventually be spending upwards of $200 per month for SiteGround’s cloud hosting that you need for optimal site space and speed.

LET’S TALK CUSTOMER SERVICE
As you can see in the image above, TMD has a great reputation for their customer service + technical support team.
Upon arriving on their website, you are instantly greeted with a message from an experienced sales person to help you choose the right plan for your website needs.
I used this service when I first switched to TMDHosting and the experience was phenomenal. They helped me choose the best plan for the best cost and then got me over to their technical services to transfer my site. A+ job, for real.
In comparison, SiteGround’s customer service was great as well. Although you are not instantly welcomed with assistance, their live chat is readily available. I spoke with somebody via live chat to get some information about their products and I was happy with the experience. They were prompt and answered all my questions.
So, customer service is great for both companies. But, is it worth the high price tag that comes with SiteGround?
Let me save you the brain power. It’s not. ;)
And to touch briefly on TMDHosting’s technical support team (since I do not have any comparison points to SiteGround’s) they are amazing. I left Bluehost because their support was total garbage and TMDHosting’s is a complete 180 from them. They will fix everything and anything that goes wrong with your website and are prompt and professional. Seriously, THE BEST.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH TMDHOSTING
TMDHosting makes it super simple to start your blog or to transfer your current website to their services.
1. Click here to be connected with TMDHosting + chat with a representative who will walk you through the entire process OR continue following these steps
2. Click “Cloud Hosting” at the top of TMDHosting’s website
3. Click “GET STARTED” under the Starter Cloud hosting package + follow the prompts to purchase your hosting package
Now, for comparison purposes, SiteGround also offers a “1-click” WordPress installer, but this is handled by you directly and not a technical support member. SiteGround is also able to transfer existing sites to their service, however, instead of transferring my site for me, he sent me a link to a “how to transfer your existing site” article.
It is definitely obvious who the best blog hosting site is: TMDHosting.
They offer the best customer and technical support, are cheaper, and faster than SiteGround.
And that is a no-brainer when choosing the best company to host your website.
