Quitting Your Day Job Will Seem Much Easier Once You’ve Cut Costs In These Three Areas
If you’re reading this post, the chances are that you want to quit your day job as soon as possible so that you can start living your best life.
Imagine being able to work when and where you wanted.
It’s the dream which more of us are now managing to make a go of.
And, the same could be true for you much sooner than you realize.

Quitting your job isn’t the risk that it once was. There are now endless platforms like blogging which can provide you with an income.
The thing to bear in mind, though, is that this income will be less than your day job pay packets to start.
You could argue, then, that the secret to realizing your freelance dreams is merely to budget better.
When it comes down to it, most of us spend a whole load of unnecessary money.
By cutting back in certain areas, you may find that you can live for almost half the amount. That would make it easier than ever to hand in your notice.
But, what are these three magic areas?
1. Entertainment
Entertainment is, by far, the easiest area to save in.
Most of us now have phone contracts, Netflix subscriptions, and all manner of other entertainment expenses.
But, let’s get real for a minute; none of these are essential.

Quitting your television subscriptions could see you saving a fortune each month. Switching to a pay-as-you-go phone could also see you rolling in it, even without your day job.
You may even find that, with these easy options out of the picture, you seek better ways to amuse yourself.
Why not pick up a book about budgeting instead of sticking Netflix on this evening?
2. Transportation
The issue of transportation is something of a chicken and egg situation.
You need a mode of transportation to get to work each day, but you pay a fortune from your wages to keep your car running.
When you consider fuel costs, insurance, and general upkeep, cars are pricey. And, you won’t even need one when you’re working from home.
That’s why you should consider getting rid of your car now.
If you still want something which can transport you, invest in a bicycle or buy a Harley here to keep yourself moving.
Both options would cut costs so much that you could get away with a much lower income each month.
3. Food
Without realizing it, most of us spend far more than necessary on food.
This counts for both eating out and supermarket shops.
Cutting back on the amount you eat out to just once a month can make a huge difference here. Equally, doing one weekly shop and sticking to a list of what you need can go a long way.

Focus on bulk recipes which require cheap ingredients.
Before you know, you’ll halve your spending on food, and be in a position to survive on less than you ever thought possible.
Then, you can welcome freelance life with open arms.

Best,
