Service Providers You Need to Change to Manage Your Budget Better

May 15, 2019 | Lifestyle | 0 comments

If you have been struggling with managing your budget and keeping on top of your bills, you might be thinking that it is all your fault. In fact, there are some companies that will just raise your prices every month, hoping that you will not notice it. There is no other reason for this behavior but greed. That is why you will have to make the most out of every opportunity to choose a better provider. Just because you have been with them for a long time, you don’t have to stay, especially if your loyalty is not rewarded.

1.  Home insurance

If you have been with the same company, and you haven’t had a claim, your insurance is still going up, you will simply have to call the company and tell them you are leaving. This will make them consider offering you a better deal on your current package, but if they don’t do this, there is no need to panic. You can find plenty of sites allowing you to find the right insurance companies that will be happy to have you as a customer.

2.  Internet and satellite TV

There is a trend that is common across the internet and satellite TV companies. They offer an initial discount for the first 6 months to a year, then they raise the prices. If you look at their advertising, you will see that they always give new customers a better deal. If you feel like you are being treated unfairly, you should make a change. Don’t tie yourself to a contract just to face increasing prices for the next few years.

3.  Mobile phone carriers

Mobile phone contracts are getting cheaper, so if your current deal is up, you will have to start shopping around. If you are on a lower package, and are getting charged regularly for going over your allowance, you might end up in debt over a phone bill. That is why you will have to compare the packages and opt for the one that will get you the most value for your money.

4.  Life insurance

Your life insurance is a type of protection, and it depends on your age and health status. However, while you are still young, you can shop around, especially if you haven’t had a critical or long term illness. You might be overcharged for the cover, and it might be time to sit down with a financial advisor and get them to explain the different cover types and assess your needs before you make a decision.

5.  Banking

Are you getting charged to make or receive payments? Even an online account could cost you a monthly fee, but it doesn’t have to. There are some basic bank accounts that are free, and you will have certain transactions included in your package, so you don’t have to pay every time you use your money.

To make the most out of your budget, you will have to make hard decisions and break ties with service providers that are not treating you fairly.
