4 Important Spaces to Have in Your New Home

Jan 23, 2021 | Lifestyle

The current pandemic has given our homes a whole new meaning. Indeed, our houses are no longer only the place where we put our feet up at the end of the day. They have been the safe shelter where we spent most of the past year. Now, with the vaccine, we have finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

However, we can’t know for sure how long it will take for things to return to normal. And, even in that case, will everything return to normal? Our lives have been shaken in so many different ways that some trends and changes are bound to stay beyond the pandemic. After all, the past pandemics have been the reason behind major home design changes. So, how is Covid-19 changing our homes?

1.  A Home Office

Once the lockdown is lifted, employees will slowly start to return to the office. Or will they? At first, we were all taken by surprise by remote working. But we have all adapted quickly, converting storage rooms and garages to home offices and downloading the latest collaboration software.

However, when designing your own home, it is impossible to ignore the fact that this trend is here to stay. Therefore, it is not only your bedroom and living room that require your attention, but also your home office. You can create the ideal space by designing a light, airy, minimalist look with enough windows to benefit from natural sunlight. And, don’t skimp on tech!

2.  A Gym or Yoga Studio

Looking after our own wellbeing has never been so important – especially as we are still dealing with the consequences of the pandemic. However, gyms might still be off-limits for quite some time! And, even when they reopen, it is difficult to know whether they are entirely safe.

That is why you should consider incorporating a gym or yoga studio within your home. Even a small space can do – just make sure it is a safe and healthy environment! And don’t forget to have a screen where you can follow the latest home workout!

3.  A Garden Or Patio

As a first-time buyer, you might be more interested in getting as much house as possible for the money you are paying. However, what is outside the house is just as important. Indeed, a garden, patio, or outside area can be an excellent space for the whole family to spend time outside and make memories. Once the pandemic is over, you can benefit from this space as an area for summer BBQs and sunbathing. However, during lockdowns, it can be a life-saving space!

4.  Larger and Smarter Kitchens

If you love going to pubs and restaurants, you are not the only one. However, over the past months, families have rediscovered the beauty of cooking together or just sharing a takeaway around the kitchen table. If you are designing your own home, it is crucial to speak to your builder and describe your lifestyle. An expert company such as Bellriver Homes will be able to design the perfect kitchen for your needs – and bring it to life!
